Component Details - Compact System

The following components are all required parts of the ATMOX Compact System:

Control Box
The Compact Control Box is the “brains” of ATMOX measuring data and controlling the system. It comes with a special mounting board that is hinged and can swing the box out for easy viewing from the crawlspace entrance door and back out of the way. It has an external 24V power supply, which needs to be plugged into a 115V outlet. All required and optional sensors plug into this distribution box.

Inside Climate Sensor
The inside climate sensor can be placed where needed in the crawlspace (generally in the “worst” spot). It has a holding bracket and must be connected via wire and jacks to the Control Box. This sensor measures temperature and humidity inside the crawlspace. It is included with the ATMOX controls.

Outside Climate Sensor
The outside climate sensor is the same sensor as the inside climate sensor but comes with a separate installation plate designed for outdoor usage. It also needs to be connected via wire and jacks to the Control Box. This sensor measures temperature and humidity inside the crawlspace. It is included with the ATMOX controls.

X-10 Transmitter
The Compact System communicates with the fans and optional dehumidifier via X-10 technology that transmits signals via existing electrical wiring. This means that wires to do not need to be run to individual fans or dehumidifiers. The X-10 transmitter is connected to the Distribution Box B with a flat telephone wire and RJ11 jacks. It also needs to be connected to a 115V outlet. It is included in the purchase of the ATMOX control set.

In-Line 15Amp Relay
Generally, all the fans will be set to come on and off at the same time. In this case, unless only 2 fans are being used, the ATMOX system will use a relay as a receiver for the X-10 information. In this case, all the electrical outlets for the fans should be wired off this relay. The function code must be set to #1 and the ATMOX system will then tell the relay whether or not to run the fans. This relay must be purchased separately from the ATMOX controls.

SR-227 115V Receptacle
This receptacle can also serve as an X-10 receiver. When only 1 or 2 fans are being run with the ATMOX system, it may be more economical to use an SR-227 for each fan instead of a relay. If a dehumidifier is being used (or any internal fans to run with a dehumidifier), then an SR-227 will be needed for each dehumidifier/fan. The function codes will need to be set according to use.   The upper side of the outlet is the controlled side for fans to be plugged in. The lower side is just a regular outlet that could be used for some other purpose. The SR-227s must be purchased separately from the ATMOX controls as needed.

The following components are optional additions to the ATMOX Compact System:
